Turkey, turkey, turkey

Ahhhhh...Thanksgiving. My favorite holiday of the year. Its a holiday that is not focused on buying something for someone, its all about good food, great family and friends and relaxing. We had one of the BEST Thanksgivings yesterday. My brother was able to join us. He is doing SOOO well, it really took me off guard. I have always been the pessimist when it comes to Jared, but I am really hopeful that this is the time! He had a great time meeting his niece and nephew and helping decorate the Christmas tree. I think that's the first time in seven years that all three of us kids were able to get together for the Thanksgiving holiday, which I was extremely grateful for.

We had a really traditional meal and I can safely say that I have aced my stuffing recipe! The downer? I'm the only one in the family that likes stuffing. Oh well, more for me. The kids had a great time and got a kick out of the new and improved kid friendly tree. Costco is a great thing. We completely made over our tree for about $45! And they cant get hurt my glass ornaments! Its great! Another wonderful holiday down, now I can sit back and relax the next three and a half weeks until Christmas and Duncan's birthday.

NKOTB- New Kids On the Block!

Oh Yeah- Tonight I'm reliving my eleven year old dreams of seeing New Kids on The Block! Oh Yeah- Jordan is SOOO hot. :) I cant believe how excited I am. I know that I should be mildly humiliated, but I'm not. Not in the least bit! Kristin and Kristen are out on the prowl tonight and we are going to rock it out! Watch out E-Center!

Today I also am celebrating 33 lbs of weight loss! I have worked really hard at this. I cant believe how rewarding it is to get back in a pair of jeans that I haven't been in for 2+ years. I'm trying to stay positive and not get overwhelmed with the fact that I still have 155 lbs to go. I only have half of me to loose now! As overwhelming as that is, I had much more to loose to begin with! My goal is to continue loosing and to get another 15 lbs off before the beginning of the year. That would put my total amount of weight loss at almost 50 lbs prior to gastric bypass. I figure that every pound that I take off before surgery, is going to be better for me after surgery. I would love to only have to loose 140 lbs instead of the almost 190 that I had to loose to begin with.

My kids spirit bring me so much happiness and joy right now. They are so excited for Christmas that I had to put up most of the Christmas decor already. We saved the big Christmas Tree for Thanksgiving day which is a tradition in our home, but other than that, everything is out already. I know that Josh is really overwhelmed. :) Oh well- The kids love it and I love that they love it!

Fall is here!

I am so excited that after the warmest fall in as long as I can remember, we finally dipped below 70 degrees today!! Some aren't as thrilled as I am but for me it confirms the beginning of the holiday season. Thanksgiving is only three and a half weeks away! And I will be confined to turkey and veggies, but that's OK. The kids are still too young to REALLY get Christmas but Sophie is more excited this season. We used her Halloween candy to make a homemade advent calendar of sorts. She calls it her countdown to Christmas candy. All she wants from Santa is a Barbie and a hair bow....so I think Santa is made in the shade this year!
